Kenyans are the greatest enemies of themselves in all spheres of life unlike most countries like the united states which though racists vote basing on some semblance of principles and virtues.
Kenya, considered a very religious country, approximated to be 80% Christian, several Muslims and notable Hindus is still highly shackled by social evils such as nepotism ,tribalism ,corruption ,bribery, witch-hunting, gossiping, murders, rape and what have you. Nothing is more sarcastic than this deception.
Severally I struggle to make out what this irony is all about. A graphic example is clearly manifested in the leadership of the country where in all sectors of life nothing is clearer than the screaming lack of principles and virtues. This has permeated both the public and private sectors.
They make reference to the wealth of their candidates, imaginary and utopian development projects and /or the wealth of their parents..... Relevance? Even nationally the ODM-K council of elders as it was then though they recognized that Kalonzo was popular warned themselves of the fact that he may not have enough money to finance a campaign. Raila was seen as one who can give Kibaki a run for his money. You must, by now, realized that there is an unwritten rule in Kenya that you have to be superrich to become a president in Kenya .
But who is now our savoiur. It behooves every right thinking Kenyan to rethink his or her position and say no to dirty money and vote leaders on principles .We will continue to blame the police, immigration, judiciary, lawyers, parliament local government etc yet all Kenyans(religious) are accessory to fact. It is not the media. I have read how the media covers Kenyan politics with chagrin. Truly the media, the demagogues of yesterday have turned into today’s vanguards.
It is time and the time is now people.
It is time we take the cue from Jesus and The rich young man story and know that money is not all in life. Moi now says he backs Kibaki. Reason? To protect his wealth and business empire. No principle at all. He has never had any principle at all-if any- kill KCC, KMC, initiate Goldenberg, Anglolesing, and kill all profitable institutions, balkanize the country and preside over corruption and ills in the country while preaching these meaningless slogans of peace, love and unity. It is time the mzee knew we are fed up with him even if he has all the money. Rift valley, and I agree with Ruto have not even a scintilla of reason to follow this rich man. He adds no value to any political party as Kilemi Mwiria intimated.
When will you and myself lead this country ?Unless we come back to reason and rid ourselves of tribal empathy, ethnicity and all these oiled with overwhelming consideration based on money and nothing else.
Mean while to Kalonzo and Raila and your troops; come back to reason, trammel your personal ambitions and beat your bodies and bring a government that will address the needs of Kenyans for posterity as we say no to the rich man syndrome that has taken Kenyans hostage and metamorphoses the country into rich man’s club for Moi and Kibaki and their circus.
